Terms of Use
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Thanks for stopping by. These are the simple ground rules for romangodfrey.com, the portfolio and labs of Roman Godfrey, including the Squipy arcade. By using the site, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
The site
This is a personal portfolio of art, graphic design, web design, and film, plus experiments in Labs and a collection of free browser games in the Squipy arcade. It’s free to use and run by one person in Colorado, USA.
The arcade: fake money only
- All arcade games are free and just for fun.
- Casino-style games (such as Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and Bingo Bash) use fake money only. No real money can be bet, won or lost, and there are no prizes. You can’t buy chips. Chips and points have no cash value and can’t be exchanged or transferred.
- High scores and settings stay on your device. They’re saved in your browser’s local storage, not on our servers, and there are no accounts. Clearing your browser data, switching browsers, or using private mode will reset them. We can’t recover lost scores.
- The arcade is for a general audience. Casino-style games are intended for adults 18+. They are for entertainment only, and nothing in them is meant to encourage real-money gambling. If gambling is a problem for you or someone you know, call 1-800-GAMBLER (US).
The casino-style games are for entertainment only. The rules, odds and strategy guides are not gambling advice and shouldn't be relied on for real-money betting. These games are original works by Roman Godfrey. Any resemblance to other games, characters or brands is unintended, and the site isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any game company or casino.
Online play: Squipy Chess rooms
Squipy Chess lets two people play on different devices using a short room code. These terms apply to online rooms in addition to the rest of this page.
- Free, no accounts. Online rooms are free to use. There are no accounts, profiles, names or chat. A room belongs to whoever holds its room code and seat link on their device.
- Usage limits. To keep the service fair and running, requests are rate-limited per network address and per room. A room expires automatically 2 hours after its last move, and in any case 24 hours after it was created. The service runs on a free plan with a fixed monthly capacity. If that capacity is used up, online rooms may be unavailable until it resets.
- No guarantee of availability. Games and rooms may be ended, reset or unavailable at any time, with or without notice. This includes maintenance, errors, outages, capacity limits or abuse.
- No guarantee that results are saved. Results are not recorded, ranked or kept after a room expires. We can’t restore a lost game, a room or its result.
- Fair use. Use online rooms only to play chess with people you’ve invited. Don’t use bots, scripts or other automated play, flood or overload the service, try to get around the limits, guess or collect room codes, interfere with other people’s games, or probe or attack the service. We may block access, end rooms or switch online play off to stop abuse.
- Share codes with care. Anyone with a room code can take an empty seat, so share it only with the person you want to play.
- Your data. Rooms store the moves and game state temporarily and nothing else about you. See the Privacy Policy.
Ownership
The artwork, designs, films, code, text, and the Squipy name and characters on this site belong to Roman Godfrey unless noted otherwise. You’re welcome to view, play, and share links. Please don’t copy, republish, or sell this work without permission. Client work shown in the portfolio may belong to the client. Other names and trademarks belong to their owners.
Provided “as is”
The site, the arcade, and everything on them are provided “as is” and “as available,” with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. Games, including online rooms, may have bugs, change, or disappear. We can change or remove anything at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Roman Godfrey won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data (like high scores or online games), arising from your use of the site. If liability is found anyway, it’s limited to US $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so some of this may not apply to you.
Links and embeds
Some pages link to or embed other services (like YouTube or PayPal). They have their own terms and privacy policies, and we’re not responsible for them. Donations through PayPal are voluntary gifts to support Roman’s work. They aren’t purchases and don’t buy anything in the arcade.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in Colorado, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site means you accept the update.
